Highway Department

The Salem Highway Department has a full-time year-round position open for an MEO. Salem/Shushan residents are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a clean class B driver’s license and a DOT physical. Having strong mechanical ability, being self-motivated. Equipment operation skills are a big plus. Starting pay is $25.90 an hour. Winter plowing and overtime are a must. Benefits include Health insurance, eye and dental, NYS Retirement, sick, personal, and vacation time, along with 12 paid holidays. Work week Monday – Thursday.
