Enhanced Star Exemption
If you DO NOT FILE New York State Income Tax, you will receive a notice directly from New York State asking for you to submit your income to them. This is for your Enhanced Star. Please fill out their form and send it back quickly to ensure that you continue to get your Enhanced Star Savings. Nothing has to be filed for the Enhanced Star with the assessor.
If you are turning 65 this year, please call to ensure the proper paperwork is filed.
If you filed New York 2021 Income tax, you should be approved for the Enhanced Star without a problem.
